Statement of U.S. Sen. Schumer on NATO action in KosovoUS Senator Charles E. Schumer today made the following statement regarding NATO's military action against Serb forces in Kosovo: "I support both the Administration and NATO in the decision to authorize and deploy air strikes against Serbian targets. The Serbian government has been given countless chances to stop the bloodshed and negotiate for a lasting peace in the Balkans. Time and again, they continued to flaunt their lawlessness before the world. "As careful as I am about committing our armed forces, I am keenly aware of what can happen when a military leader who is essentially a bully feels he can have his way. "My thoughts and prayers are with the men and women of our armed forces as they carry out this dangerous but important mission.
